Depp donates $2m to children's hospital

Johnny Depp paid a secret visit to London's Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital on Sunday - and donated $2m of his own money to thank staff for saving his young daughter's life.
The 'Sweeney Todd' star arrived unexpectedly at the hospital, where his eight-year-old daughter Lily-Rose was treated last year when her kidneys failed.
Last week, the actor - who has two children with his partner Vanessa Paradis - invited five Great Ormond Street doctors and nurses to the party for the London premiere of his film 'Sweeney Todd'.
Last November, unknown to the public, Depp spent four hours at the hospital telling bedtime stories to patients dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow after having his 'Pirates of the Caribbean' costume flown over from Los Angeles.
In March last year, Lily-Rose, Depp's oldest child, spent nine days at Great Ormond Street after E.coli poisoning led to the failure of her kidneys.
Filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire had to be put on hold as her condition worsened so much it was feared she might not live.
Depp, who on Sunday was named Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes for his role in 'Sweeney Todd', later said of the scare: "It was the most frightening thing we have ever been through. It was hell.
"But the magic is that she pulled through beautifully. Great Ormond Street was terrific, a great hospital."

Equally rooted in gospel, person and hip-hop, 112 was the first and most successful urban vocal mathematical group to emerge from Sean "Bouffant" Combs' Bad Boy Records roll. Not only was the group's eponymous 1996 debut popular, only the group could be heard on records by such Bad Boy artists as Puff Daddy. Unlike most artists on Bad Boy, 112's range was clean, virgin and wholesome, which helped the grouping cross over to a more mainstream audience.

The four members of 112 -- Marvin, Daron, Q and Mike -- met each other piece attending high school in Atlanta, Georgia. The quadruple began to bring gift shows at school and local churches, finally gaining the attending of Courtney Sills and Kevin Wales, wHO before long became the group's managers. Sills and Wales brought 112 to the tending of Sean "Tumid" Combs at Bad Boy Records. Combs sign-language on as the executive producer of 112's eponymic debut album, which featured songs the radical co-wrote with such professional songwriters as Stevie J, Wayna Morris of Boyz II Men, and Combs himself. "Only You," the group's debut single, was released in the summertime of 1996 and climbed to identification number three on the R&B charts, peaking at number 13 on the pop charts. 112 was released in late 1996, and it steady worked its elbow room to gold position as the group's second single, "Come Seem Me," reached number 15 on the R&B charts. Elbow room 112 followed in 1998 and Part III was issued three age later. The chemical group all just left Bad Boy for 2003's Hot & Wet, and cemented their new family relationship with Def Soul on 2005's Pleasure & Pain.

Tori Spelling Returning To 90210

Former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star Tori Spelling has announced that she is joining the cast of the new spin-off series '90210', reprising her role of Donna Martin.

Starring alongside her former co-host Jennie Garth, Spelling told People.com that her character Donna "loved designing and wanted a career in fashion.  It'll be fun to explore that storyline. And, I'm sure fans will be dying to know if she's still married to David (Brian Austin Green)."

A representative for the new show said Spelling's character will "own one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills."

Spelling, whose father Aaron executive produced the original series, explains, “Donna Martin was such a huge part of my life. It’s going to be so fun to work with Jennie again and see where Donna is today. When they say you can’t go home again, it’s not true. I’m headed back to the zip code I know best and couldn’t be happier!”

Bon Jovi rock it in Munich

WHEN JON BON JOVI said the rain 'was the angels crying because they couldn't
get a ticket' my thoughts this gig was going to be a cheesefest were fully
justified.

But credit where credit's due.

Everybody enjoys a bit of cheese at times and there is no one better at it in
the rock world than this mighty foursome.

Jon, guitarist RICHIE SAMBORA, keyboard whizz DAVID BRYAN and
drummer TICO TORRES had 72,000 crazy German fans at Munich's Olympic
Stadium like putty in their hands from start to finish with a barn-stomping,
sing-a-long, two and a half hour set.

I like the fact they don't take themselves too seriously.

I was a select group of journalists invited to this second date of their
European tour to promote their recent, and more country-themed album, Lost
Highway.

However instead of sticking rigidly to their more unfamiliar materal, I was
delighted to see they genuinely still enjoy blasting out their old hits.

And even though he may be getting on a bit now, Jon is still a winner with the
ladies, showing off his gleaming white teeth and energetic dance moves in a
leather jacket that exposed his bare chest underneath.
Living On A Prayer was, and was probably always likely to be, my personal
highlight on a hit-packed evening.
The audience was like a sea of bobbing lights as they shone their mobiles into
the sky.

Other stand out moments include a bizarre rendition of DUFFY'S Mercy, a
blazing version of THE BEATLES' Twist And Shout, classic hit Medicine
and recent track I Love This Town, which was played to a backdrop of videos
that fans had sent in.

And proving just why he is considered one of the best musicians in the world,
Richie was mesmorising on each of the TEN guitars he used throughout
the night and more than held his own on a solo of I'll Be There For You.

As the rain poured down, Jon opted to cover up his famous mullet with a
baseball hat.

He had a hairdyer backstage to cater for such hiccups he but chose not to use
it.

In fact, we was so relaxed and caught up with the atmosphere in 'Munich, my
second home' that Jon frequently strayed from the set list, calling out
random tracks (they have 150 rehearsed) to keep his gang on their toes.

After pleas by the crowd he also rallied his bandmates to complete a second
encore featuring Blood On Blood.

Cheesy, yes. But lots of fun.

Bon Jovi comes to the UK on June 11.

Amy Winehouse Angers Court Room Officials

Amy Winehouse angered courtroom judges yesterday by shamelessly flirting with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil while he on trial for GBH and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

The scabby singer, who was covered in cuts, bruises, spots and blemishes, repeatedly gestured to her love, blowing him kisses and mouthing sweet sentiments to him while he sat behind a sheet of bullet-proof glass.

She also wrote a note for her beloved to be passed on through his solicitor, and patted the seat next to her and mouthed “Come and sit here next to me”.

However, when Blake started chatting to a female guard, Amy looked noticeably jealous and bitterly mimed to him, “You chat away.”

Growing tired of her persistant flirting, an official approached Amy and ordered her to stop communicating with the defendant. Clearly provoked, the beehived singer suddenly stood up and shouted out loud to her husband, “You’re fit!” before dramatically leaving the court room.

When asked outside Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London how Blake was looking, she replied: “Gorgeous as f***. Haven’t you seen him?”

Getting wild

Once you've witnessed a wild and woolly concert tour coming up later this month you won't believe What You Heard.

Local rock 'n' roll rabble-rousers the Checks are hitting the road with the Electric Confectionaires and the Dukes...
